Happy January!

Happy January!

It's been a while since my last email. I hope you had a great New Year and that January has treated you kindly. This used to be my most hated month of the year. All the glitter and glamour of Christmas far behind, and just the cold, grey winter months looming ahead. But hey, maybe it's not so bad after all. Maybe I'm feeling so good because I'm entering...

A New Season!

I like to work in seasons, which means I focus on one thing at a time and rotate between the creative work and the releases. I spent all of 2018 making Villainess and pretty much all of 2019 on releasing it. I enjoyed it all, and now it's time to go back to the creative season. Which is very exciting.

I've been recording some vocals at home, which is new to me. I usually record everything in a proper studio, but I'm experimenting with new ways of working and seeing what feels right. So far it's been fun. I like working in an as simple and nimble way as possible and get the ideas out as soon as they are ready to.

Remixes Galore

have several new remixes from Villainess coming up still and I'm keeping up with the pace of releasing one track a month. In December I released All Monsters Are Human. Check it out by clicking below, if you missed it.

I've also worked with The Fair Attempts (who made the awesome Punisher Remix of Dark Heart almost a year ago) to create a new industrialised version of Addict Nation.

Ah, good old industrial. The gig we played with Velcra in October really made me feel like exploring my industrial metal roots, and I got an idea for making an industrial version of Addict Nation, which The Fair Attempts helped me bring to life. I like his sound, and it's been super awesome to work with him.

This re-imagined version of Addict Nation will drop NEXT WEEK so keep an eye out for it. Here's the Spotify pre-save link, if you want to get it as soon as it's out.

And this is what it will look like.

That's all for now. Just wanted to send you January greetings from the depths of my creative cave.

Until next week,

Jessi.
