Couple of weeks ago I popped an impromptu question on my Facebook and Insta pages for AMAs (Ask Me Anything) and got some great questions. I’ve been thinking about how to respond to them. Should I make videos or maybe even turn them into a season of podcasts? But then I thought, I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing - which is writing my blog.
I've now completed making the music video for the upcoming single The Blue Pill, which will be out on Friday 7 June. Here’s a teaser for it, so you can get a taste of what's coming. This is now the eleventh (!) video I’ve been involved with and the sixth video I’ve produced myself, so I thought I’d share a bit of the process here on the blog. Velcra Videos When we started with my band Velcra we got some pretty big budget videos made. The first one “Big Brother” was made by a film school. We shot the video...
I signed up for a stand-up comedy course on a whim a couple of weeks ago. Now I spend 3 hours every Saturday learning how to do stand-up comedy. In addition, I have homework which requires me to write a 5-minute routine every week.
Signing up to this course was a really dumb idea considering that I'm less than 3 weeks away from going to the studio to record my first solo album. I have a lot of work to do in preparation.
But I love my Comedy School. I don't know what I'll do with this new skill. I’m still not sure if I'm any funny at all. But learning it is an interesting process.
I have been amazed and quite surprised by the response I got to my announcement last week. So many people reached out to me and told me that they are excited to hear that I’m making music again. I honestly didn’t expect that. I’ve been making this album very quietly and completely on my own, and now I feel like I’m making it for you. It changes my perspective a little and makes everything even more exciting. So, thank you!
